Responsibilities
- Handle incoming calls from individuals seeking information about treatment programs and services
- Field calls from various lead sources and qualify prospective clients
- Conduct pre-admission and pre-medical assessments to determine clinical appropriateness and eligibility
- Capture insurance information and discuss health insurance benefits and financial requirements
- Explain facility programs, levels of care, and available services to determine the best treatment fit for each client
- Build rapport and establish trust through empathetic and compassionate communication
- Provide reassurance and crisis intervention support to individuals and families in distress
- Utilize strong interpersonal and closing skills to guide prospective clients through the admissions process
- Coordinate admissions from referral sources and collaborate with clinical and operational departments to ensure smooth patient transitions
- Coordinate travel arrangements and assist prospective clients with finding cost-effective flight options when needed
- Maintain accurate, real-time documentation and note taking in Salesforce CRM and other systems
- Accurately disposition calls and maintain electronic records of all interactions
- Stay in consistent communication with clients until safely received by transportation staff or facility personnel
- Adapt communication and engagement strategies based on varying lead sources and client needs
- Assist with prioritization of pre-admission assessments to help achieve targeted census goals
A qualified candidate must possess adequate education, experience, and knowledge regarding the nature and treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction. Candidates should:
- Understand the principles and techniques of alcohol and drug counseling
- Be knowledgeable of community resources available to individuals struggling with addiction
- Demonstrate skill in applying counseling and communication techniques effectively
- Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare admissions, behavioral health admissions, registration, call center, or customer service environment
- Previous experience in substance use disorder treatment strongly preferred
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service, sales, and objection-handling abilities
- Empathetic, compassionate, and professional demeanor
- Ability to evaluate an individual’s needs and recommend appropriate treatment options
- Strong multitasking and real-time problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
