Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in the Suffolk County, NY area for a Medical Collections Specialist. The role involves managing the end-to-end collections process, contacting patients and payors to resolve outstanding balances, and ensuring prompt cash collection. Additional tasks include maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, collaborating with internal teams to resolve payment disputes, and adhering to relevant policies and compliance standards in medical billing and collections.
Qualifications
- Debt Collection and Cash Collection expertise with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent Communication skills, including both verbal and written, with the ability to engage professionally with patients and stakeholders
- Proficiency in Computer Literacy, including knowledge of medical billing software, spreadsheets, and other relevant systems
- Basic understanding or experience in Finance and medical billing processes
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Experience in healthcare or medical billing collections is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in medical billing or related fields are a plus
