Summary of Description:
The Technician will work under the supervision of an assigned specific discipline and based on experience the individual evaluates, selects, and applies standard applicable techniques. Could include discipline work of purchasing, expediting, NDT Inspection, project controls, surveying, laser scanning, schedulers, planner, construction inspectors, project coordinators, automation, controls, etc.
Duties:
- Assists assigned supervisor in various aspects of projects assigned.
- Applying standard discipline techniques to make minor adaptations and modifications.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) with additional specialized training, or college course work, and at least eleven (11) years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
License Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License as per State law or requirement
Specific Skills:
- Detailed working knowledge of Policies and Procedures related to project work.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk up to one mile on industrial plant and construction sites outdoors at any time of the year.
- Ability to work in protective clothing which may elevate body temperatures by several degrees Fahrenheit for periods of up to 15 minutes without a break.
- Ability to use multi-level stair towers and rung ladders unassisted.
- Ability to hear safety alarms and signals while wearing hearing protection.
- Ability to sit at desk and operate computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear.
- Ability to see with visual acuity and distinguish between colors.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. on a regular basis is required and at times lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.
Requirements
* Due to being an in-plant position, the below referenced Job Duties have been provided by the client:
Client specific job details:
- Perform QA Audits of the Contractor performing relief valve testing and repairs. This includes reports prepared for the client, focusing on the accuracy and completeness of data to constitute credit for Code & Regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of API 510, 527, 570 & 576
- Knowledge of ASME VIII, particularly UG-125—UG-138
- Knowledge of NBIC, particularly PART IV
- Knowledge of DOT 49 CFR 192 & 193
- Knowledge of relief valve testing & repairs to the “VR” standard.
- Uploading PSV reports into the client's Electronic Storage Repositories (CREW/SharePoint) as well as creating Events in PCMS.
- Basic computer skills, Microsoft Suite
- Understand and reviews the Rotating Assets in the client's CMMS (Maximo) to ensure the correct Assets are “operating”, in the ‘repair location, or in the warehouse as the “spare”.
- Knowledge of Maximo
- Viewing P&ID’s as well as the pipe specs to create flange assembly documentation required for valve reinstallations. Flanged Joint Assembly Record (FJAR)
- Knowledge of reading P&ID’s & Company specifications.
- Responsible for the preparation and development of Monthly KPI reports for DOT required PSV Testing.
- Assist/Audit maintenance as they compile work lists during turnarounds to ensure that regulatory work requiring a shutdown is captured and executed for PSVs. This includes closure packages with FJAR’s, repair reports, isometrics, & P&IDs to ensure the system is returned to the applicable spec prior to start-up and PSSR’s.
- Perform QA Field audits/ spot checks, as well as flange assembly verifications.
- Attend MOC meetings pertaining to valve upgrades or changes.
- Prepare and update periodic Inspection Team Meeting notes.
- Assist team in creating events in PCMS for contractors not embedded with inspection team
- Suggest improvements in PCMS to the Inspection Team for consideration
