Position Summary
The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, developing customer relationships, and expanding market share within an assigned territory. This role focuses on selling new and used heavy equipment, attachments, and related services to contractors, municipalities, and industrial clients. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, customer-focused, and experienced in consultative sales within the construction or equipment industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to grow territory revenue and market share
- Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities within construction, land development, and industrial sectors
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers through consistent communication and service
- Conduct equipment demonstrations, jobsite visits, and product presentations
- Provide customers with solutions tailored to their operational needs, including equipment, financing, and rental options
- Track and manage leads, opportunities, and pipeline activity using CRM software
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and pricing strategies
- Collaborate with parts, service, and rental departments to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and close sales agreements
- Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
- Manage territory expenses and travel efficiently
Qualifications
- 3 years of outside sales experience (heavy equipment, construction, or related industry preferred)
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steers, etc.)
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Self-driven with strong time management and organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage a geographic territory
- Proficient in CRM systems (Zoho, Salesforce, or similar)
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory
