What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receiver position at Recente?
Recente is a new restaurant opening in July 2026. Located in the East Village, we will be serving coastal Italian food with a twist, not bound by tradition, taking influence from Asia and the surroundings. Our service style is elevated plates, focusing on ingredient quality, seasonality, and refinement.
We are looking for someone who would take the role of both receiver and entry-level prep cook to be a part of our opening team. This role will assist both kitchen and bar operations. Candidates must have availability for morning/day time shifts.
This position is responsible for ensuring orders received are accurate and of the highest quality, communicating with vendors and kitchen management regarding discrepancies, and organizing invoices. This position is responsible for cleaning, organizing and maintaining refrigerated and dry storage areas, ensuring compliance with FIFO and DOH standards, and must label and date all items received. You will be responsible for breaking down boxes and maintaining a clean garbage area. This position will assist with fundamental prep tasks. You may be required to assist other areas of the restaurant as requested by management. The candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
