Recente is a new restaurant opening in July 2026. Located in the East Village, we will be serving coastal Italian food with a twist, not bound by tradition, taking influence from Asia and the surroundings. Our service style is elevated plates, focusing on ingredient quality, seasonality, and refinement.
This position includes both prep and execution of service, with a 40-hour/4-day work week. Candidates must have availability to work dinner shifts and weekends.
At least 1 year of professional kitchen experience is required (including school/externship). While culinary experience and technical skills are valued, we believe that attitude is just as important. We are looking for someone who brings a positive mindset, a strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to learn and grow. Your responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Executive Chef, cooks will be responsible for their station from start to finish, including daily inventory, determining daily prep pars, and executing mise en place and service at a high level of speed, accuracy, and organization. You must maintain a clean and safe workplace compliant with DOH standards. You will be expected to display a working knowledge of all ingredients and preparations used on the menu.
