Position Overview

The Analyst, Corporate Finance is responsible for supporting the broader Corporate Finance department, reporting to the Manager, Capital Markets & Investor Relations. Responsibilities include analyzing and executing capital markets activities; supporting the company’s investor relations efforts, including the design and maintenance of investor presentation material, assisting in developing and executing investor outreach strategies, monitoring and analyzing peer companies; and involvement in FP&A and other strategic initiatives. The Analyst, Corporate Finance will exhibit strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, financial analysis, critical thinking, and be an adept verbal and written communicator. The role involves significant interaction with the executive leadership team, broader corporate finance department, and key external constituents.

Key Responsibilities

Capital Markets Function

  • Support the Corporate Finance function on strategy and execution of the capital markets transactions, such as equity and debt offerings, “At-the-Market” ATM program, liability management, and other initiatives, including managing due diligence, developing presentation materials, and working with outside counsel, lenders, and banking relationships.
  • Analyze and evaluate alternative capital-raising opportunities, including non-U.S. listings, structured property sales, non-USD, GBP, EUR bond offerings, and Strategic Capital initiatives.
  • Help maintain the company’s WACC models and track cost of capital trends.
  • Conduct peer benchmarking analyses (performance metrics, financial disclosures, investor materials, capital structure, and capital raising strategies) to make recommendations on industry best practices.
  • Work with the team to prepare Corporate Finance and Capital Markets material for quarterly Board of Directors meetings, including presentations, memorandums, and strategic updates.
  • Organize, synthesize, and help recommend capital raising ideas (structure, timing, size, etc.) based on capital markets outlook, the company’s strategic objectives, and themes aggregated through discussions with investment banker product specialists.
  • Work alongside team to prepare ad hoc financial / capital markets analyses for the corporate finance and/or executive team.

Investor Relations

  • Contribute to the development and execution of a comprehensive, best-in-class investor communication strategy through the creation of key talking points, design of presentation material, and development of original analyses.
  • Support the development and execution of an investor targeting strategy to enable engagement with new institutional and retail equity & debt investors globally.
  • Work cross-functionally to maintain quarterly Earnings Q&A document and contribute to preparing Earnings call scripts.
  • Help prepare and update investor presentation materials and content uploaded to the company’s Investor Relations website.

FP&A and Other Strategic Initiatives

  • Collaborate with FP&A team on financial analyses and strategic initiatives.
  • Learn and work with the company’s Corporate Model.
  • Help with the tracking and reporting of the company’s credit investment portfolio and perform analyses involving new and existing investments.
  • Participate in developing, defining, and executing strategic partnership opportunities, including business development, partner due diligence, financial analysis and models, and presentation materials.
  • Support the company’s private capital initiatives and capital markets/investor relations related efforts associated with the development of open-ended fund vehicles.
  • Perform ad-hoc strategic financial analyses and recommendations in support of strategic growth initiatives of the company.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate is typically expected to have:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business or a related field.
  • Proactive curiosity of capital markets related concepts and constituents.
  • Strong financial acumen, a quantitative mindset, and stout attention to detail.
  • Proactive, self-directed, industrious, intellectually curious.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to brainstorm, strategize, and execute in ambiguous situations.
  • Desire to take initiative and identify opportunities to improve processes and “status quo”.
  • Intermediate (or better) skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to learn and utilize data platforms/applications for analyses (i.e. Bloomberg, S&P Capital IQ, etc.).
  • Interest in and curiosity for the REIT industry.

The base salary for this role is $73,319 - $90,377 - $111,189.

Offers near the high end are uncommon but may be considered for candidates with exceptional experience and skills and are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. You may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and an annual discretionary stock award, to be discussed during the interview process. An annual pay rate and total compensation package is generally determined by the candidate's experience, knowledge, education, skills, performance, and abilities, as well as internal equity, company performance, and alignment with market data.
