Realty Income is looking for an Accounting Intern to join our in-house accounting team. This internship will provide in-depth exposure to the REIT industry and an opportunity to implement projects that will facilitate meaningful changes in the accounting department at an S&P 500 company. You’ll gain exposure to real-world accounting processes, work alongside experienced professionals, and develop skills that will prepare you for a successful career in finance or accounting.

What You Will Be Working On

  • Assist with month-end and quarter-end close procedures.
  • Support the Accounting Team in successful planning and implementation of quality assurance projects.
  • Conduct independent research and use AI-based tools to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Participate in regular meetings with representative functional leaders and project leaders to discuss project management, standards, innovations and key project management objectives and concerns.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and other duties as assigned.

What You Need To Be Successful

We are looking for a motivated student who will be a rising senior during the summer of 2026 in an Accounting, Finance or related field degree program with a minimum GPA of 3.2 to join our accounting team.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform independent research and leverage AI tools for data analysis and problem-solving.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office especially Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (U.S. GAAP exposure a plus).
  • Must be organized, detailed, flexible, efficient, and take ownership of own work product.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic about learning and contributing to a collaborative accounting environment.
  • An adaptive learner that displays excellent judgment and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated integrity and commitment to the highest ethical standards and personal values.

This is a hybrid role with Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday required in-office.

The hourly compensation for this role is in the range of $21.00 - $25.00. Hourly rate determined by the candidate's skills, experience, knowledge, education, and abilities.

Offers near the high end are uncommon but may be considered for candidates with exceptional experience and skills and are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. You may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and an annual discretionary stock award, to be discussed during the interview process. An annual pay rate and total compensation package is generally determined by the candidate's experience, knowledge, education, skills, performance, and abilities, as well as internal equity, company performance, and alignment with market data.
