- Lead detailed technical assessments of project requirements, specifications, and drawings.
- Develop precise cost estimates, factoring in materials, labor, equipment, overhead, and contingencies.
- Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to source competitive pricing and negotiate favorable terms.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to perform quantity take-offs and analyze project scope.
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and incorporate risk factors into estimates for accuracy.
- Proactively seek new project opportunities and foster strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business.
- Prepare and present detailed proposals, bid documents, and cost breakdowns, clearly outlining assumptions and methodologies.
- Work closely with project managers, executives, and stakeholders to validate project scope and refine estimates.
- Evaluate alternative construction methods and propose value engineering solutions to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
- Uphold the organization’s reputation for accuracy, reliability, and integrity through diligent estimation practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting the growth and success of our estimating team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience considered.
- 4-7 years of electrical construction estimating experience, preferably in a variety of project types. ($1-$5M Electrical Projects)
- Proficiency with estimation methodologies, software, and industry standards.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex technical documents.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical and financial information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate risks, develop mitigation plans, and perform probabilistic analysis.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and thorough documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
