Job Overview

Start here. Grow here. Lead here.

RealManage Houston is seeking motivated college students and recent graduates for our Community Association Management Leadership Internship Program—a paid, hands-on opportunity designed for individuals who want more than a traditional internship.

You don't need previous property management experience. We're looking for someone with professionalism, curiosity, initiative, strong communication skills, and the desire to learn.

You'll begin by developing a strong professional foundation supporting our Houston office, including reception, customer service, office operations, and administrative support. As you demonstrate reliability, sound judgment, and mastery of the fundamentals, you'll have the opportunity to expand your experience into community operations, Board governance, financial fundamentals, vendor and project management, property inspections, and other aspects of Community Association Management.

This is not an internship where you'll spend your time observing from the sidelines. You'll contribute to real work, support real clients, receive mentorship from industry professionals, and develop skills that can prepare you for a long-term career with RealManage.

What You'll Do

As a Community Association Management Intern, you will:

  • Serve as a professional first point of contact for the Houston office, including greeting visitors and providing front desk and telephone coverage.
  • Assist homeowners, Board Members, vendors, and internal team members with general inquiries and appropriate routing.
  • Process and distribute incoming mail and assist with outgoing correspondence.
  • Support the Houston office's transition from paper-based records to an organized paperless environment.
  • Assist with office supply coordination and other day-to-day office operations.
  • Organize and maintain electronic community records and documents.
  • Assist with calendars, scheduling, correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, and administrative projects.
  • Prepare Board Meeting and Annual Meeting materials.
  • Learn CiraNet and other technology used in Community Association Management.
  • Assist with vendor communications, project tracking, and operational follow-up.
  • Shadow Community Association Managers during property inspections and community visits.
  • Attend Board and Annual Meetings as appropriate.
  • Gain exposure to budgeting, invoices, assessments, financial reports, and reserve planning.
  • Participate in training, mentorship, leadership development, and special projects.
  • Take on progressively greater responsibility as skills and competencies are demonstrated.

The program is intentionally competency-based rather than time-based; interns earn greater responsibility by demonstrating professionalism, judgment, communication, reliability, and mastery of assigned responsibilities.

What You'll Learn

This internship provides exposure to multiple areas of professional business and community management, including:

  • Customer experience and professional communication
  • Community and property operations
  • Board governance and fiduciary responsibilities
  • Financial fundamentals and budgeting
  • Vendor and project management
  • Property inspections and maintenance coordination
  • Business technology and CiraNet
  • Meeting preparation and follow-through
  • Problem-solving and professional judgment
  • Leadership, accountability, and career development

Who We're Looking For

You may be a great fit if you are:

  • Currently enrolled in a college, university, or community college, or are a recent graduate.
  • Interested in business, management, real estate, finance, communications, hospitality, public administration, marketing, leadership, or a related career field.
  • Professional, dependable, and comfortable interacting with people.
  • An effective verbal and written communicator.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to take ownership of your work.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new technology.
  • Curious, coachable, and willing to ask questions.
  • Someone who takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do next.
  • Interested in developing professionally and potentially building a long-term career.

No prior Community Association Management or property management experience is required.

Our ideal candidate is someone with potential who wants an opportunity to learn, contribute, and grow.

What You'll Gain

You'll receive paid professional experience while developing skills that transfer across multiple industries. You'll also have access to structured mentorship, leadership exposure, hands-on business responsibility, professional development, and a clear understanding of what it takes to advance into Community Association Management.

Most importantly, you won't just learn what to do. You'll begin learning how professionals think, communicate, prioritize, solve problems, serve clients, and lead.

Start here. Grow here. Lead here.

Your next step starts with RealManage.
