What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr Test Engineer position at Real?
Seeking a Senior Test Engineer to support the development of innovative neuromodulation devices, with a primary focus on system verification and validation (V&V) throughout the product development lifecycle. Responsibilities include developing verification and validation plans, validating test methods, creating protocols, supporting regulatory submissions, and ensuring device performance, reliability, and system compatibility.
The role partners closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, and human factors to support design reviews, risk management, and product validation activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a scientific discipline with 6 years of relevant experience (or advanced degree with 4 years).
- Strong experience in system-level verification and validation planning.
- Hands-on experience testing medical devices in ex-vivo tissue environments.
- Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals and related test equipment.
- Excellent communication, organization, and project prioritization skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in regulated medical device environments.
- Knowledge of IEC 60601 standards, electrical safety testing, EMC testing, and Design for Reliability/Manufacturability principles.
- Experience working in cross-functional development teams.
Must-Have Skills: System Verification & Validation, Ex-Vivo Tissue Testing, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Fundamentals, Test Method Development, Test Equipment Expertise.
Preferred Skills: IEC 60601, EMC/Electrical Safety Testing, Design for Reliability, Systems Engineering, Cross-Functional Collaboration.
