Project Leader, Process Engineer - Commercial Support (12-18 Months Contract)
A leading biopharma site in the greater RTP, NC area is entering a critical Phase II expansion to support full commercial readiness. As part of this transformation, we're hiring a Process Engineer, Project Leader to drive GMP manufacturing scale-up and campaign support across a multi-functional team.
This is a contract opportunity with long-term potential, supporting a site expected to onboard 200 contractors across engineering and technical disciplines.
🔍 Role Overview:
As a Process Engineer, Project Leader - Commercial Support, you will:
- Lead tech transfer and scale-up of commercial manufacturing processes
- Oversee PPQ campaign execution and readiness activities
- Drive troubleshooting and optimization of upstream/downstream unit operations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with MS&T, Validation, and Manufacturing teams
- Act as a technical SME during campaign planning and execution
- Establish best-in-class manufacturing practices
✅ Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 7-15 years of experience in GMP biotech/pharma environments
- Proven leadership in process development, scale-up, and commercial support
- Hands-on experience with PPQ studies and/or supporting commercial readiness
- Functional experience in Process Engineering, MS&T, Validation, Engineering, etc.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Open to travel or relocation (talent from Midwest, Northeast, and West Coast encouraged to apply)
