What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Representative position at Real?
Looking for a driven, commercially minded Business Development Leader to join a small, highly collaborative team (~4 people). Reporting directly to the VP of Sales & Marketing, this is a high-impact individual contributor role with significant visibility and autonomy.
You'll play a key role in driving growth through a blend of new business development and account management, with a strong focus on building pipeline and increasing deal flow from Big Pharma clients.
- Develop and grow relationships within large pharmaceutical accounts
- Generate new business through proactive outreach, networking, and industry engagement
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities
- Expand existing accounts and identify new revenue streams
- Act as the commercial interface between customers and RC2's global supply partners
- Align customer needs with capabilities across APIs, intermediates, and fine chemicals
- Proven success opening doors and winning business with Big Pharma
- Experience in CDMO, APIs, intermediates, or specialty chemicals
- Strong network or demonstrated success in cold outreach and relationship building
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a "hunter" mentality
- Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel across the U.S. and attend industry events
- Chemistry or life sciences background is a plus (not required)
- Small, tight-knit team with a hands-on, collaborative culture
- High visibility and direct exposure to leadership

- Fully remote; flexible location (East Coast preferred)
- Travel primarily within the U.S., with potential international exposure

-CDMO (Contract Development & Manufacturing)
-APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients)
-Intermediates / Fine Chemicals
-Understanding of drug development or pharmaceutical supply chains
5. Relationship Building & Networking
-Strong industry network OR ability to build one quickly
-Effective at in-person engagement (conferences, client meetings)
-High emotional intelligence and trust-building ability
Experience Required:
-Track record of winning business with Big Pharma clients
Background in:
CDMO
API manufacturing
Specialty chemicals / intermediates
-Experience in both new business development AND account management
-Exposure to a lean or high-growth environment is a big plus
