Job Overview: As a Warehouse Shipping Office Clerk, you will play a key role in processing administrative and operational aspects of the shipping office within a warehouse or distribution center. This position involves office processes, coordinating documentation, and ensuring the smooth execution of shipping operations.
Reports to: Distribution Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Shipping Documentation:
- Prepare and review shipping documents, such as bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping labels.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with shipping regulations and customer requirements.
Communication:
- Facilitate communication between the shipping office and other warehouse departments.
- Collaborate with the shipping team to address any issues or challenges.
Order Processing:
- Coordinate with the shipping team to process customer orders and generate shipping schedules.
- Ensure order processing accuracy and timeliness.
Customer Service:
- Serve as a point of contact for customer inquiries related to shipping.
- Address customer concerns and provide updates on shipping status.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement and oversee quality control measures for outbound shipments.
- Address and resolve any issues related to product quality or shipping errors.
Process Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the shipping office.
- Suggest best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in office management, preferably in a shipping or logistics environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
