SEC Reporting Consultant

Location: Jacksonville, FL or Charlotte, NC
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite – 5 days a week
Employment Type: Contract
Pay Rate: $75/hr on W2 without benefits

Job Description:

The Financial Principal will be responsible for analyzing the company's financial results, developing financial models, preparing reports, and providing insights to support senior management's financial and business decisions. This role will partner with Controllership to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, and timely completion of SEC filings and disclosures. The position will also support financial planning, forecasting, variance analysis, and audit activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze monthly financial results, financial models, and key performance metrics to identify trends and explain variances.
• Support the preparation and review of SEC filings, public company financial reports, and related disclosures.
• Research, interpret, and apply SEC and regulatory guidance to financial reporting and disclosures.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
• Perform financial statement analysis and support reporting to regulators, investors, senior management, and the Board.
• Support forecasting, budgeting, financial modeling, and re-forecasting activities.
• Review general ledger activity and support the financial close process to ensure reporting accuracy.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure appropriate financial controls are maintained.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet strict reporting deadlines and support merger-related SEC filing requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with SEC reporting.
• Experience with consolidated company financial reporting or regulatory reporting.
• Ability to research SEC and regulatory guidance, interpret requirements, and apply them to SEC filings.
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and SEC disclosures.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification.
• Banking or public accounting experience.
• Experience with general ledger and financial reporting tools.
