Title: Project Manager (Data Center/Construction)

Contract: 6 Months

Location: Woburn, MA (Hybrid)
Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday in office
Pay Rate: $61/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Project Manager to lead project budgets, procurement, vendor coordination, commissioning, project controls, and closeout activities within a data center or mission-critical construction environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing project budgets and vendor relationships, preferably from the owner/operator side.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Budget Management: Track project budgets, forecasts, variances, and budget-related changes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Procurement & Vendor Management: Coordinate purchasing and sourcing for Product Development vendors supporting hardware and software solutions, including BMS, security, and operations platforms.
• Obtain quotes, manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and reconcile invoices.
• Commissioning & Closeout: Lead project coordination through commissioning, punch-list resolution, turnover, and final project closeout.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with Construction, Supply Chain, and Operations teams on schedules, submittals, long-lead equipment, commissioning, and closeout requirements.
• Project Controls: Maintain integrated project schedules, milestones, execution plans, RAID logs, project trackers, and status reports.
• Project Readiness & Turnover: Coordinate readiness planning and turnover activities to ensure successful project completion.
• Identify potential issues with equipment submittals and support resolution throughout project execution.

Required Qualifications

• 7 years of Project Management experience in data center or mission-critical construction environments.
• Experience preferably on the owner/operator side rather than solely with a General Contractor.
• Proven experience managing project budgets, forecasts, vendors, and procurement activities.
• Direct experience with vendor procurement, purchasing, and sourcing in a corporate environment.
• Working knowledge of data center MEP systems, including:
• • Switchgear
  • UPS systems
  • Generators
  • Cooling systems
  • Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Physical security systems
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Smartsheet or equivalent project management tools.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong cross-functional communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP Certification preferred but not required.
• Experience with data center construction, infrastructure, commissioning, and turnover.
• Strong understanding of project controls, cost management, procurement, and vendor management.
