Position Summary
The Next Gen Pastor (NGP) leads and coaches staff and high-capacity volunteers to create safe, welcoming, and discipleship-focused environments from birth through college. This role sets strategy, equips leaders, partners with families, and integrates Next Gen ministry into the broader vision of Real Life so kids and students experience changed lives in Christ.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and coach Next Gen staff in leadership, teamwork, and spiritual maturity.
- Identify, recruit, and develop high-capacity leaders who can lead at multiple levels.
- Facilitate healthy team dynamics; address conflict, guide resolution, and build trust.
Ministry Strategy & Integration
- Develop and implement strategy for Kids and Students that aligns with Real Life’s mission.
- Collaborate with church leadership to integrate Next Gen into the larger vision and teaching plan.
- Design scalable systems and structures that support growth and excellence across all Next Gen ministries (birth–college).
Family Partnership & Discipleship Environments
- Equip and empower volunteers to create safe, welcoming, gospel-centered environments.
- Partner with parents and families to help kids and students take their best next faith steps.
- Preach and teach in collaboration with the Real Life teaching team.
Stewardship & Effectiveness
- Steward budgets and resources strategically for maximum impact and sustainability.
- Measure effectiveness with data, feedback, and outcomes to ensure alignment with mission and vision.
- Ensure environments meet safety standards and are effective in reaching the next generation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Four-year college degree preferred.
- 10 years of Next Gen ministry experience with demonstrated leadership of staff and volunteers.
- Strengths in leadership development, communication, strategic planning, organizational management, and team-building.
- Clear, compelling communicator (kids, students, parents, leaders); culturally aware while rooted in biblical truth.
- Active, mature Christian faith; aligned with Real Life’s vision, core values, and core beliefs; models healthy spiritual growth and lifestyle.
