Math Teacher - (Applicant pool 26-27 SY)

REAL Journey Academies (RJA) is a non-profit charter school management organization designed to significantly increase college entrance and graduation rates for underserved students in the Inland Empire. We aim to impact and revitalize communities through the development of Education and other supportive partnerships.

Entrepreneur High School (EHS) is a dynamic new charter high school currently being built in Fontana, CA, where entrepreneurship is taught across disciplines. The students learn through a project-based curriculum to launch their own companies while still in school. 

REAL Journey is looking for a Teacher who will:

• Innovative teaching style - able to work with collaborative groups in cooperative learning and project-based learning that dominates the curriculum.
• Strong collaboration skills. Willing to work with teachers from multiple disciplines to design curriculum and support student learning and success.
• Background in technology, entrepreneurship, or innovative classroom teaching.
• Willing to design and teach interdisciplinary curriculum with a focus on entrepreneurship and technology.
• Willing to work with and support students in interdisciplinary experiences (internships, projects, study trips, etc.).
• Willing to work with community partners in the classroom.
• Experience with project-based learning: a dynamic classroom approach in which students actively explore real-world problems and challenges and acquire a deeper knowledge.
• Willing to go above and beyond.
• Willing to try new things and learn through failures.

• Passion for working with traditionally underserved communities in high-performance settings
• Strong instructional and classroom management skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Steady work ethic and a high level of patience to overcome difficult challenges
• Maintain a high standard of honesty and integrity, and present oneself with poise

Additionally, experience in the following areas is helpful:

• Experience teaching in an urban public school or charter school setting
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
• At least two years of experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom is preferred

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Experience with computers and software applications.

• Proficiency with or the ability to learn current software and equipment.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential in the subject area is required.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Master's degree in the subject matter field or Education preferred

Physical demands:

• Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
• Occasional or frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and reaching for extended periods of time
• Occasional computer work,k including but not limited to typing
