What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fiber Technician position at Ready 123 Solutions, LLC?
Scope of Work
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks for each individual installation:
a. Fiber Installation & Burial:
- Pull pre terminated fiber from the nearest vault location to the customer’s home.
- Utilize direct burial techniques for the fiber, ensuring compliance with local regulations and best practices.
- Where required, sleeve the conduit in any openly exposed areas to ensure aesthetic consistency and hide the visible conduit, matching the surrounding environment.
b. Equipment Installation:
- Install the home router at the central location of the home or at the customer’s preferred location, taking into account optimal WiFi signal distribution and customer preferences.
- Verify that all equipment is properly configured and powered.
c. Documentation:
- Take detailed photos of the installation, including:
- Inside home router installation, and outside views of the fiber trench installation & slack box installation.
- The back of the customer’s router, clearly showing the MAC address and serial number.
- Daily Checklist filled out for each lots installation which reflect all the specific equipment being used at that location
- Label and store photos for inclusion in the project documentation file in Google Drive.
d. Test & Turn-Up:
- Conduct a comprehensive speed test to ensure the installed service meets the specified Service Level Agreement (SLA).
- Gather performance metrics, including upload and download speeds, and confirm that all SLAs are satisfied.
- Provide customer training on basic router operations, such as rebooting the system and connecting devices to the WiFi network.
- Help assist the customer in getting their devices connected to the new internet: (1) Phone, (1) Laptop / Computer, (1) Smart TV
e. Customer Sign-Off:
- Obtain the customer’s formal sign-off upon successful completion of the installation, including acknowledgment of satisfactory performance and system functionality.
- Provide a scanned copy of the signoff to us
2. Timeline
- Each home installation should take approximately 2 to 3 hours from start to finish, including fiber burial, equipment installation, testing, and documentation. You’ll have up to 3-5 installs a day.
- The contractor will be required to provide a 5-7 day notice of availability for scheduled installations. Must be available for same day emergencies and outage.
3. Project Budget
$35hr, $50 gas card per week
4. Ongoing Service and Support
Beyond initial installations, we are seeking local contractors to provide ongoing service and maintenance support for the mobile home and new build communities, which may include:
- Responding to service requests or outages.
- Performing routine maintenance or equipment upgrades.
- Providing troubleshooting assistance and technical support for existing customers.
5. Requirements for Contractors
Qualified contractors must have the following:
- Experience with fiber installation and direct burial techniques.
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot home WiFi systems, including customer-premises equipment (CPE) such as routers.
- Capacity to provide detailed documentation and adhere to the provided testing and performance protocols.
Bonus if you have electrical and pole experience! We pay $40hr!
