Director of Investor Partnerships

Organization: REACH Central Coast

Reports to: Vice President of Communications and External Affairs

Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking a strategic, externally facing leader with a proven track record of building and stewarding relationships with senior executives and high-net-worth individuals. The ideal candidate combines sophisticated relationship judgment, experience in investor stewardship and sponsorship development, and the ability to partner closely with organizational leadership to grow long-term, mission-aligned investment and support.

Role Overview

REACH is hiring a seasoned, relationship-driven professional to advance our long-term investor engagement strategy. This highly external role focuses on growing and strengthening a mission-aligned community of investors across San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties, with an emphasis on expanding REACH’s presence in Santa Barbara.

The Director of Investor Partnerships manages and expands a focused portfolio of nearly 90 and investors, fostering active engagement through convenings, strategic touchpoints, and ongoing partnership. These investors are more than financial supporters; they are champions of a shared vision for stronger economic opportunity and long-term prosperity on the Central Coast. This role is responsible for deepening those relationships over time, ensuring investors remain connected to REACH’s work and long-term impact and supporting their continued investment in the mission.

Serving as a key ambassador for REACH, the Director works closely with the CEO to advance priority investor relationships, lead renewal and sponsorship conversations, and create meaningful pathways for continued engagement and support. The role also leads the design and delivery of investor experiences across REACH’s engagement ecosystem—from small, high-touch gatherings of prospective and current investors to larger convenings including the annual Ideas Action Summit—and is responsible for developing, selling, and fulfilling event and program sponsorships that support both engagement and revenue goals.

This role may require occasional evening and weekend work for events, as well as local travel within San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties.

  • Build, steward, and grow strong, long-term relationships with investors, community leaders and key stakeholders, with emphasis on expanding presence in Santa Barbara County
  • Confidently engage senior executives, high-net-worth individuals, and regional partners

Investor Stewardship & Experience

  • Strengthen involvement so investors are informed, energized, and actively engaged in REACH’s work through regular touchpoints and convenings

Retention, Renewal & Growth

  • Lead investor renewal and continuation conversations, in partnership with the CEO, using a strong, relationship-driven approach
  • Identify and develop opportunities for deeper engagement, expanded partnership, and increased mission-based investment

Event Strategy & Engagement

  • Lead the design and execution of strategic engagement experiences for prospective and current investors
  • Partner with the Vice President of Communications and External Affairs to shape and elevate the investor experience across REACH’s convenings
  • Develop, secure and fulfill event sponsorships as part of REACH’s broader investor engagement, partnership and revenue strategy

Communication & Representation

  • Maintain strong knowledge of initiatives to effectively represent the organization externally
