Job Title: IT & Cybersecurity Specialist (Full-Time, Hybrid)
Location: Charleston, SC
Work Model:

Hybrid – 2 days on-site, 3 days remote; projects in-person (TBD as needed)
Overview:
Rea Landscape Management is seeking a proactive and skilled IT & Cybersecurity Specialist to safeguard, optimize and maintain our technology infrastructure and cyber environment. This hybrid role combines on-site engagement with flexible remote work, supporting employees and operations across the organization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in IT systems, cybersecurity, network administration, and technical support, ensuring Rea Landscape Management’s technology and cyber environment is secure, compliant, and efficient.
Position Objective:
To strengthen Rea Landscape Management’s cybersecurity posture while providing expert IT support to employees and operations, maintaining a secure, resilient, and efficient technological environment.
Key Responsibilities:
General
- Initial research, and implementation of best practices, software and procedures for all IT & cybersecurity measures.
- Cybersecurity & Network Security monitoring and maintenance.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Perform regular vulnerability scans and penetration testing.
- Manage system updates, security patches, and endpoint protection.
- Develop and execute incident response procedures, including forensic analysis and remediation following breaches.
- Implement continuous monitoring and threat prevention systems.
- Establish and maintain consistent procedures for our Google Workspace environment including overall security, monitoring and problem solving any issues/concerns.
- Setup MDMs for devices, monitor and establish proper protocols, find and solve any issues that arise and ensure smooth operations for all devices.
- Create and maintain SOPs for all job tasks and employee training (with assistance from our project team.
IT Support & Systems Management
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for Mac and PC systems, laptops, desktops, cell phones, and tablets.
- Oversee IT onboarding and offboarding, including device setup, software configuration, and user support.
- Maintain an organized inventory of all hardware and software resources, including warranties, logins, and ownership.
- Collaborate with vendors for hardware/software support and service agreements, including department software when applicable. All service agreements are to be thoroughly reviewed by our IT & Cybersecurity specialist.
- Recommend IT strategies, policies, and procedures to improve organizational outcomes.
Data Protection & Compliance
- Implement encryption protocols, data loss prevention (DLP) systems, and backup/disaster recovery strategies.
- Oversee secure data handling and storage practices.
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments and enforce cybersecurity policies, including the creation and implementation of all applicable SOPs.
- Lead staff cybersecurity awareness and training sessions.
Schedule & Work Model:
Initial: 2-3 weeks in-person planning and set-up (options may be discussed upon hire)
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hybrid: 2 days on-site, 3 days remote
On-call availability for emergencies (will be compensated at time and a half)
Projects will be determined on a case-by-case basis with input from the project team, including the IT & Cybersecurity Specialist.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 2–3 years of IT or cybersecurity experience, including desktop support and network administration.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, Google Workspace (Admin), Windows Server, LAN/WAN networking, virtualization, and mobile device management.
- Relevant certifications preferred (CompTIA Security , CEH, CISSP).
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to teach and support employees.
