Re:work is partnering with Trustly, a global leader in Open Banking Payments, to hire a Senior People Partner for the US organisation, based in New York.

The US business plays a critical role in Trustly’s global expansion. Operating as a fully remote, multi-state organisation, it requires senior People leadership capable of bringing clarity, consistency and operational maturity at pace.
This role reports to the VP of People Partnering and works closely with US executives and Trustly’s global People organisation.
The opportunity
This is a high-impact, hands-on role embedded in Trustly’s US business.
This role combines executive partnership with hands-on responsibility for strengthening multi-state People operations.
Trustly’s US workforce operates across more than 20 states. This creates complexity across compliance, documentation, onboarding and offboarding, performance management, employee relations and separation handling. As the business continues to grow, Trustly needs a senior People Partner who can assess what is in place, strengthen where needed and implement practical, scalable improvements.
What you will own
- Own the US People agenda end-to-end, partnering directly with US executive and functional leadership
- Strengthen multi-state People operations across onboarding, documentation, performance cycles and exits
- Professionalise employee relations and separation processes, including consistent workflows, templates and manager guidance
- Reinforce compliance readiness across multi-state employment requirements within a remote model
- Identify operational gaps and implement pragmatic solutions that leaders can adopt quickly
- Ensure alignment between US practices and global People standards
- Support organisational change and evolving team structures as the US business scales
This role combines senior stakeholder partnership with detailed operational execution. Both are required.
Who we’re looking for
Trustly is seeking a senior People Partner with operational depth, strong judgement and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.
A strong fit will likely have:
- Experience as a Senior People Partner, Senior HRBP, People Lead or equivalent in a scaling, tech-led environment
- Strong knowledge of US multi-state employment considerations within a remote workforce
- Demonstrated experience independently managing complex employee relations matters and sensitive exits
- A track record of building or tightening People processes in evolving organisations
- Confidence partnering with executive stakeholders and influencing decisions constructively
- The ability to bring structure without unnecessary bureaucracy
Location & contract
This is a permanent contract employed directly by Trustly.
Compensation ranges from $148,000 to $222,000, depending on experience.
