Responsibilities
As a Deconstruction Trucker at Re-use Hawaiʻi, you’ll transport salvaged building materials from project sites across Oʻahu to our Redistribution Center, ensuring loads are organized, secured, and handled responsibly. You’ll perform daily vehicle inspections and maintenance, using the Whiparound app to track equipment and keep our fleet in top condition. Working closely with the Deconstruction team, you’ll assist in hand-deconstruction, surface salvage, and safe loading/unloading to maximize recovery of valuable materials. This role also includes supply runs, donation pick-ups, and supporting the overall mission of reducing waste and keeping resources in use.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Excellent knowledge of Oʻahu roadways
- Experience driving cab-over flatbed trucks and box trucks
- Construction background and experience
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Reliable, responsible, and accountable work ethic
- Excellent verbal communication skills
