Deconstruction Crew MemberEmployment Type: Full-Time; Temp to hire– 35-40 hours per weekSchedule: Varies depending on worksite deadlinesJob SummaryDeconstruction Crew members work as a team to disassemble buildings topreserve material for reuse. They encounter very labor-intensive work like hauling rubbish around and stacking lumber, some roof work and power tool usage which can include taking down walls as well. We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic team members willing to work both quickly and safely to help us process lots of reused material into our warehouse so it could be sold to the public.Pay: $20/hr. General Requirements:Reliable transportation to travel to job sites. Car highly recommended.Valid driver's license.Cell phone and email communication.Steel toe shoesEssential DutiesSome construction background and experience.Experience using hand and power tools.Attention to detail and safetyAbility to work in all outdoor elements and conditions.Hand-deconstruct building structures, including performing surface and structural salvage, handling recycling and waste materials, and preparing and loading salvaged material for hauling.Arrive on time and prepared.Take care of the organization's tools and equipment.Participate in daily safety meetings.Follow supervisory directions.Help maintain safe, clean, and orderly job sites by coordinating and cooperating with co-workers.Behavioral CharacteristicsExcellent communication skills.Leader experience/skill is helpful for advancement.Strong commitment to the environmental mission of Re-use Hawaii.Ability to work as a collaborative team member.Ability to maintain the ethical standards of the organization.Enjoy physically demanding labor.Self-motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic.Ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, steel toed and soled boots, gloves, ear protection, and a respirator, when required.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by anemployee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
