Accountant and Benefits Specialist

RDR is seeking an Accountant and Benefits Specialist to round out our accounting team.

Job Summary

The accountant will prepare financial reports to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities as well as coordinating with upper management and officers.

Responsibilities

• Benefit reconciliation and administrative processing including health insurance and open enrollment, employee new hire and termination processing, and I9 verification etc.
• Processing payroll and all associated state and federal taxes.
• Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
• Maintains the general ledger.
• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
• Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
• Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable.
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• Maintains fixed asset schedule.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
  
  

Education and Experience:

• Five to ten years of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
• Understanding and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Highly proficient with accounting software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related experience.
• Three to five years of accounting experience required.
• Handle and manage confidential information.
