Company Description R. D. Anderson Applied Technology Center equips high school students with practical skills to prepare them for successful careers in a changing workforce. The Center offers one-year and two-year programs, as well as semester courses, that provide a wide range of career pathways. Students gain a strong foundation to either enter the workforce directly after graduation or continue their education at a technical college or four-year institution. Many courses offer opportunities for college credit, national certifications, and licensure, helping students graduate with credentials that enhance their career readiness and future prospects.
Role Description The EMS Instructor is a full-time, on-site role based in Moore, SC, responsible for teaching emergency medical services content to high school students in a structured classroom and skills-lab environment. This role includes developing and delivering lesson plans aligned with state and national EMS education standards, assessing student performance, and providing feedback to support skill development and professional behavior. The EMS Instructor will demonstrate and supervise hands-on skills such as patient assessment, basic and advanced life support procedures (within scope of certification), and prehospital care scenarios. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate student records, coordinating with local EMS partners, ensuring compliance with accreditation and safety requirements, and supporting students in preparing for relevant certifications and registry exams. The instructor will participate in curriculum improvement, professional development, and occasional school events or advisory meetings.
Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in EMS Education, including curriculum delivery, skills instruction, and student evaluation.
  • Current or recent Paramedic-level experience with strong background in Prehospital Care across a variety of emergency settings.
  • Active or previously held U.S. National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification, or ability to obtain if required by state or program standards.
  • Solid understanding of emergency Medicine principles relevant to field care, patient assessment, and evidence-based protocols.
  • Current state EMS licensure at the Paramedic or appropriate instructor level, in good standing, or eligibility to obtain.
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and motivate diverse high school learners.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and learning management systems for instructional materials, grading, and documentation.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of skills demonstrations, including lifting training equipment and simulating patient care activities.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in EMS, allied health, education, or a related field preferred; relevant experience and certifications considered.
