RCN Capital is looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our dynamic and fast-paced lending team. In this role, you will manage a diverse pipeline of loans, including nontraditional hard money loans, fix-and-flip projects, bridge loans, and other products offered by RCN Capital.
Key Responsibilities:
Review, analyze, and make decisions on mortgage underwriting files to ensure compliance with applicable loan programs. Validate data, assess credit reports, and confirm entity compliance. Evaluate borrower/investor experience and perform detailed collateral analysis. Maintain a strong understanding of RCN Capital’s loan programs and the full lending life cycle.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage a daily pipeline of loans across RCN Capital’s full suite of programs.
- Review loan files for accuracy, creditworthiness, compliance, and collateral evaluation.
- Collaborate with the lending team and Loan Officers to ensure files are complete and meet funding goals.
- Develop a thorough understanding of RCN Capital’s loan programs and their specific requirements.
- Make independent underwriting decisions and guide loans through the funding process.
- Perform additional tasks, projects, and assignments as needed.
Required Skills:

- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Exposure and proficient use of MS Office Suite, including Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Required Experience:
- 4-year college degree in business, finance or equivalent.
- Experience working in mortgage underwriting for no less than 4 years.
- Experience in private or hard money lending strongly preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related field preferred
- Experience in lieu of formal education will be considered
Schedule:
- Full time
- Monday-Friday, 9:00AM to 6:00PM
- Hybrid work model - 2 days/week in office
- First 90 days will be in office
