The successful candidate will work as a Structural Engineer in the Outside Plant (OP) Engineering & Design Group within the Construction & Maintenance organization of the Electric T&D – Projects & Construction line of business utilizing a broad knowledge of business and engineering principles and practices. The successful candidate will be an experienced structural engineer with broad knowledge and experience in electric transmission and distribution design and construction. Perform detailed civil / structural engineering design and analysis and solve complex technical issues. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to lead and will coordinate and perform structural design, alterations, and repairs to produce construction drawings and calculations, as well as provide field construction support. Perform technical reviews on engineering design practices and provide engineering-related comments, as necessary. Oversee the work and provide technical guidance and direction to junior-level engineers.

Required Skills, Knowledge And Experience
- B.S. Degree in Structural / Civil Engineering
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in civil / structural engineering, including design and field / resident engineering on major civil / structural construction, alteration / renovation and modification projects
- Experience in performing complex civil / structural calculations and analysis
- Experience in preparing construction drawings, including steel, aluminum, concrete structures and foundations
- Experience in designing and detailing of steel transmission structures, including both lattice steel towers and tubular steel poles / structures
- Experience in preparing existing structural and foundation reinforcement drawings
- Knowledge of subsurface investigation and different geology conditions
- Experience in deep foundation design, including concrete caisson, driven pile, helical foundations, as well as steel vibratory caisson
- Experience in performing underground duct bank and manhole structural design
- Working knowledge of utility best practices, ASME, NESC, ACI, ASTM, and ASCE standards
- Proficient experience utilizing PLSPOLE, PLSTOWER, RISA and STAAD Pro for structural designs
- Proficient experience utilizing LPILE, GROUP, and FAD Tools for foundation designs
- Proficient experience utilizing Microsoft Office products
- Must be familiar with AutoCAD / MicroStation
- Must have New Jersey P.E. License
- Clear and concise writing and verbal communications skills
- As the job requires driving to Company locations and off-site assignments and events, must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license with a safe and satisfactory driving history
- Advanced Technical or Engineering Degree
- Advanced technical training
- Familiar with preparing bottom up engineering estimates
- Familiar with NESC, PJM and PSE&G loading criteria for transmission structures
- Knowledgeable in excavation stability, subgrade preparation, backfilling, thermal and electrical properties of soils, and dewatering
