Job Summary

The Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate, competitive cost estimates across the full EPC lifecycle, supporting bids, proposals, and project execution for utility and energy clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed EPC cost estimates for T&D substations (HV, EHV) and transmission line projects.
- Develop quantity take-offs for civil, structural, electrical, and transmission line scopes.
- Estimate labor, materials, equipment, subcontracting, and indirect costs.
- Review drawings, specifications, RFPs, and contract documents to identify scope, risks, and assumptions.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, procurement, and project management teams to validate estimates.
- Support bid strategy, pricing reviews, and value engineering initiatives.
- Develop and maintain estimating databases, cost models, and historical benchmarks.
- Identify risks, contingencies, and escalation factors aligned with EPC contracting.
- Participate in bid reviews, client clarifications, and post-bid negotiations as needed.
- Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in EPC projects for T&D substations and/or transmission lines.
- Strong understanding of substation equipment, foundations, steel, buswork, protection & control, and transmission line construction methods.
- Experience estimating HV/EHV projects (13kV , 69 kV–500 kV).
- Proficiency with estimating tools, spreadsheets, estimating software like Pro Est and other software and quantity take-off software
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and utility standards.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience working with utility clients and EPC lump-sum or unit-price contracts.
- Familiarity with procurement strategies, vendor pricing, and subcontractor negotiations.
- Knowledge of risk management and cost controls for large-scale EPC projects.
