Duties
- Manage daily daycare operations, including staff scheduling, classroom activities, and safety protocols
- Lead and motivate a team of educators and caregivers to deliver high-quality childcare and early childhood education
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and organizational policies
- Foster strong relationships with families through regular communication, updates, and parent engagement initiatives
- Oversee staff training on topics such as behavior management, child development, first aid, and special education needs
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incident reports, developmental assessments, and licensing documentation
Qualifications
- Proven experience in childcare management or as a daycare director with a strong background in early childhood education
- Extensive knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in preschool and toddler care
- Demonstrated classroom experience working directly with children across various age groups including infants and toddlers
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Certifications such as first aid/CPR are required; additional certifications in special education or working with children with disabilities are a plus
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise staff effectively while maintaining a positive team environment
- Excellent communication skills to engage families and collaborate with community partners
