About this role
The Electrical Engineer leads and manages hardware aspects of products throughout their entire lifecycle from architecture, planning, design through verification and validation. Provides electrical-design technical leadership for cross-functional new product development and sustaining engineering projects. Hardware design development is for products based on different sensing technologies (e.g. Optical, Electrochemical) and communication technologies (wired and wireless).
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and write engineering requirements and rationales that align with customer requirements, system, and regulatory standards.
· Provide electronic assembly project schedules for individual tasks performed by EE resources in support of overall project development schedule.
· Develop mixed signal circuits that meet requirements verified through analysis, simulation, and/or breadboards.
· Use of ECAD tools for schematic capture.
· Direct the efforts of PCB/PCBA designers through parts placement, routing, and board layout of designs.
· Work closely with firmware engineers to develop strategies for Hardware/Firmware integration.
· Participate in product roadmap and resource planning.
· Implement new or updated mixed signal electronic designs that meet or exceed all customer, system, and regulatory requirements.
· Build and test designs from bench-level to formal verification and validation level using in-house test setups or at 3rd party test facilities.
· Follow development processes, lead technical reviews, and properly document and control work deliverables.
· Assess the impact of making changes to electrical components related to obsolescence issues affecting impacted subcircuits, PCBs, and PCBAs.
· Author and lead through to implementation engineering change requests, manufacturing and engineering change orders.
· Participate in the development of test cases against individual requirements.
· Support product quality investigations and perform root cause analyses.
· Identify project risks and provide practical proposals to close gaps and mitigate risks.
· Support multiple product development programs at a given time.
Required Qualifications

· 5 years of professional work experience.
· 3 years developing mixed signal PCB/PCBA designs.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Analog circuit design experience.
· Experience in developing electronics to meet high levels of EMC performance.
· Participation in the development of at least one product development effort from inception through market launch.
· Product development experience in a regulated market segment (medical, automotive, aviation, Industrial Life Safety, Safety Instrumented Systems).
· Experience across all phases of the program development lifecycle, from requirements capture through design, implementation, and test.
· Experienced with FMEAs and developing control techniques to mitigate risks.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills.
· Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to effectively deliver PCB/PCBA designs.
