Description

The Vice President of Service will be responsible for Service Team. In this key role, the VP of Service will be responsible for the Business Unit strategy and profitability, and will be a key stakeholder within the Business Unit organizational structure.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the business unit profitability trends, Develop annual plan for bookings, sales activity, sales cost, G&A cost, actual gross profit, maintenance base and net operating income according to established procedures.
  • Works closely with Senior Management Team to realize Company Goals and Profitability
  • Participate in construction project and new project turn-in meetings, providing support and scheduling of system commissioning and service-related tasks within each project.
  • Provides strategic direction to the President and VP, Sales for service sales and service by constantly monitoring customer satisfaction, industry operational standards, and Customer services procedures based on findings.
  • Manage project equipment warranty claims.
  • Applies continuous improvement to existing processes

  • Ensure that deadlines are met
  • Responsible for over-sight to all Service Managers in remote office locations.
  • Accountable for positive leadership of direct reports to include coaching and career development
  • Drive change initiatives
  • Instill a culture of continuous improvement
  • Build rapport and productive working relationships with vendors and other outside agents. Effectively represent company's interest to outside agents.
  • Evaluate current market (i.e., market share, geography, customer's service mix, etc.) Identify new markets. Develop and execute a plan for market penetration which assures attainment of revenue goals. Assign sales force appropriately.
  • Understand timing of work and how it relates to others. Train, direct, evaluate and assist subordinates in the development, communication and redemption of schedules. Implement and enforce quality project management guidelines, and use appropriate tools effectively to assure quality installations and proper profit.
  • Delegate and organize work of others by position description and procedures. Get subordinates to accept responsibility and agree on assigned, written objectives.
  • Effectively audit performance of subordinates and follow-up. Recommend appropriate personnel actions (i.e., hiring, firing, promotion, compensation, etc.). At a minimum, assure performance reviews are completed for all service/service sales department personnel annually.
  • Assign goals to subordinates and measure performance.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

The VP of Service is a team-oriented, customer-focused and technically competent Executive with a high sense of urgency. More specifically, VP of Service will have a proven track record of successfully bringing a similar organization to the highest level of service. Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Business or Engineering. Industry experience a plus.
  • In depth understanding of P&L
  • Knowledge of Safety aspect, OSHA standards for general industry, and required PPE for Technicians and workforce
  • Capable of managing stress in an elevated stressful environment (Skills & Special Requirements)
  • Track technician training, ensuring workforce is up to date (education, operating rental equipment, refresher courses for ammonia, fit-testing, etc.)
  • Demonstrated technical understanding of refrigeration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret construction drawings and P&ID’s
  • Skill in writing reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Experience in all aspects of project requirements including mechanical, electrical, and structural, including application of current codes, a plus
  • Knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of building materials, engineering standards and codes
  • Ability to work closely with others on a team as well as independently
  • Physical ability to access job sites, including some climbing and crawling
  • Capability of maintaining a high energy level to handle a dynamic, fast-paced workload
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in evaluating situations
  • A high level of technical and spatial aptitude
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and deadlines
  • Self-motivation and willingness to learn and embrace new ideas and technologies
