RBI National Metals is a fast-growing metal supply and distribution company focused on delivering high-quality materials and exceptional service to our customers. We are looking for a driven, detail-oriented Inside Sales Representative who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands how to balance customer relationships, quoting, and operations.
This is not a call center role—this is a hands-on, high-impact position where you will be directly involved in sales, order flow, and daily operations
What You’ll Do
Sales & Customer Relationships
- Handle inbound calls and email inquiries with a focus on closing business and driving profit
- Prepare accurate quotes by fully understanding customer requirements (materials, sizing, fabrication, certifications, etc.)
- Build long-term relationships with contractors, buyers, and repeat customers
- Follow up consistently to uncover new opportunities and generate repeat business
- Conduct outbound calls and outreach to generate new business
Order Management & Operations
- Enter and manage sales orders with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Stay fully aware of daily shop activity, including:
- Orders in process
- Incoming/outgoing materials
- Delivery timelines
- Coordinate closely with shop and operations teams to ensure smooth order flow
- Perform quality checks on orders and shipments
Shipping & Logistics
- Prepare shipments using UPS, FedEx, and freight carriers
- Ensure all shipping documentation is complete and accurate
- Verify outgoing orders before dispatch
Product Knowledge
- Learn and understand metal types, grades, sizes, and applications
- Interpret customer needs and match them with the right materials
- Perform basic calculations for measurements, weights, and cuts

- Inside sales experience (metal supply, industrial distribution, manufacturing, or construction supply preferred)
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Comfortable working with pricing, quotes, and order systems (ERP/Excel)
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and sense of ownership
