Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Marine Service Manager / Mechanical Coordinator to oversee and coordinate diesel mechanical services at our Lower Bank, NJ facility. This on-site role is responsible for managing service operations, leading mechanical teams, and ensuring all projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate brings strong diesel and marine engine expertise, leadership capability, and excellent client communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate diesel mechanical service operations for marine vessels
- Manage service schedules, workflow, and project timelines
- Supervise and support mechanical teams to ensure quality and efficiency
- Communicate directly with clients regarding service needs, progress, and outcomes
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and marine service regulations
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and operational issues
- Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure optimal service delivery
- Coordinate parts sourcing and engine sales as needed
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in diesel mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and repair
- Strong expertise in marine engines and generators
- Dealer-level familiarity with engines and systems including:
- CAT, Cummins, Yanmar, Onan, Kohler, Mercury, and stabilization systems
- Ability to locate, source, and coordinate parts and engine sales
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including team supervision and scheduling
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Knowledge of marine service standards, safety regulations, and best practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to respond quickly to service challenges
- Background in the marine industry, with familiarity in sportfishing vessels strongly preferred
- Proficiency with marine mechanical tools and maintenance equipment
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical certification or vocational training in marine mechanics or a related field preferred
