Job Description Responsibilities Take responsibility for developing and delivering the organization's risk management and/or risk control policies and procedures. Identify the capabilities needed to meet the current and emerging business needs of a significant function. Evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize development activities. Embed personal development and the fulfillment of personal potential in the culture of the organization. Build capabilities elsewhere in the organization through mentoring and other informal methods. Lead strategic risk modeling and scenario planning for business-critical decisions to support business strategy and to identify and mitigate risk in line with the risk appetite. Advise on strategic modeling of risk scenarios to comply with the risk appetite. Manage and report on the performance of the function/business area; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives. Communicate the function's strategy and its relationship to the organization's mission, vision, and values; clarify the actions needed to implement this strategy within the area of responsibility; motivate people to commit to the mission, vision, and values and do extraordinary things to achieve the organization's business goals. Skills Monitor, interpret and understand policies and procedures and ensure their alignment with organizational strategies and work objectives. Identify, assess, prioritize and manage risks. Plan, identify, monitor, analyze, and prioritize risks (threats and opportunities), create response plans, and manage the risk if it occurs. Determine and analyze trends from data that is collected to assist in compiling reports that will help in decision-making.
