Transactional Associate Attorney - (Full time)
Location: Lakewood, Colorado
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Transactional Associate Attorney to provide legal counsel and transactional support to clients, primarily in matters involving homeowner associations, real estate, corporate governance, contracts, and related legal issues. This role requires strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capability to manage multiple client matters while delivering practical legal solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Counsel & Client Advisory
- Review and interpret governing documents, contracts, insurance policies, real estate documents, statutes, regulations, and case law.
- Provide legal advice and strategic guidance to clients on a wide range of transactional matters.
- Prepare written legal opinions, recommendations, and guidance tailored to client needs.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to boards, management teams, and other stakeholders.
Drafting & Documentation
- Draft, review, and revise a variety of legal documents, including:
- Contracts and agreements
- Governing documents and amendments
- Rules and regulations
- Easements, licenses, and related real estate documents
- Opinion letters and legal correspondence
- Ensure all documents comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Research & Analysis
- Conduct legal research utilizing available legal databases, statutes, regulations, and case law.
- Analyze complex legal issues and develop practical solutions to support client objectives.
- Stay informed on legal developments affecting real estate, community associations, employment matters, and corporate governance.
Negotiation & Representation
- Represent clients in negotiations and transactional discussions.
- Facilitate dispute resolution and assist clients in achieving favorable outcomes through effective negotiation strategies.
Client Communication & Relationship Management
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding the status of legal matters.
- Communicate legal concepts clearly to individuals with varying levels of legal knowledge.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive and professional service.
Meetings & Business Development
- Attend board meetings, annual meetings, and client events as required, including occasional evening meetings.
- Participate in educational seminars, presentations, and client outreach initiatives.
- Support business development and marketing efforts to strengthen client relationships and expand services.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Colorado.
- Approximately 7 10 years of progressively responsible legal experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Real Estate Law
- Corporate Governance
- Nonprofit Organizations
- Contract Review and Drafting
- Fair Housing
- Employment Law
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience communicating with boards, managers, executives, and clients who may have limited legal knowledge.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and legal research platforms.
- Experience with case management and billing systems is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and client-service skills.
- Ability to accurately track billable time.
Physical Requirements
