Construction Dispatcher

About the Role
We are seeking a Construction Dispatcher to support daily shop operations and equipment logistics within a heavy civil construction environment. This role is responsible for coordinating schedules, managing equipment movement, and ensuring effective communication between shop, field, and operations teams.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities to maintain workflow efficiency and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage daily and weekly shop and field schedules to ensure timely completion of work
- Plan and schedule equipment mobilization, including labor, trucking, and lifting requirements
- Obtain and manage required permits while ensuring regulatory compliance
- Communicate scheduling updates with internal teams, drivers, project managers, and vendors
- Monitor job progress and adjust schedules based on delays, breakdowns, or changing priorities
- Collaborate with shop leadership to track equipment availability, utilization, and maintenance planning
- Maintain accurate records of schedules, permits, and job status updates
- Identify and proactively resolve logistical or scheduling conflicts
- Ensure all scheduled activities comply with safety and operational standards
- Provide regular updates on scheduling performance, resource allocation, and workflow efficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in dispatching, scheduling, logistics, or shop coordination
- OR supervisory/lead experience in a construction or shop environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of construction equipment, shop operations, and safety standards
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to schedule changes and operational challenges
- Experience with scheduling or construction software (e.g., HCSS) is a plus
- OSHA 30 certification is a plus
- Valid driver’s license required
