Marketing & Business Development Coordinator
Location: Menlo Park, CA
Salary: $80,000–$95,000
Hybrid: Three days per week in office
Our client, a highly regarded and top ranked national law firm, is seeking a Marketing and Business Development Coordinator to join its Menlo Park office. This position will support firmwide initiatives, with a primary focus on the firm’s West Coast offices and Intellectual Property practices.
This is an excellent opportunity for a legal marketing and business development professional seeking broad exposure, increased strategic responsibility, and long-term growth. The role goes beyond event execution and provides hands-on involvement with proposals, client development, research, directory submissions, budgeting, practice planning, and other high-impact initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate client events, seminars, webinars, presentations, dinners, receptions, sponsorships, and community programs
- Manage event logistics, vendors, invitations, attendee communications, and on-site execution
- Support the development of pitches, proposals, RFP responses, and customized client presentations
- Conduct target-client, industry, and competitive research
- Assist with practice and attorney business development plans
- Maintain practice-specific experience, credentials, and marketing materials
- Coordinate Chambers, Legal 500, and other legal directory submissions
- Maintain CRM data, distribution lists, and the firmwide marketing calendar
- Coordinate external communications, legal alerts, invitations, and thought-leadership mailings
- Collaborate with attorneys and internal teams to execute marketing and business development initiatives
- Track results and assist with reporting on effectiveness and return on investment
Qualifications:
- 2 years of marketing or business development experience within a law firm
- Strong candidates with two years of directly relevant experience may also be considered
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience coordinating sophisticated client events
- Exposure to proposals, submissions, budgeting, and practice planning
- Ability to think strategically while managing the details required for successful execution
- CRM experience preferred
- Excellent writing, communication, project-management, and follow-up skills
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate effectively with attorneys and colleagues
