What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Set-Up Operator position at Ray Machine & Manufacturing?
Ray Machine is searching for an experienced and talented CNC Lathe Operator to oversee a horizontal CNC lathe or lathe cell. The purpose of this position is to produce parts that meet the needs of our customers outlined by engineering drawings and specifications while meeting our production goals. A successful operator will have excellent attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and above average math skills.
Responsibilities
- Understand engineering drawing dimensions and tolerances
- Set up machines for production
- Understand tooling used for machining
- Understand machinability of different material types
- Understand how machine operations are affected by subsequent operations and vice versa
- Machine parts to customer specifications and meet production goals
- Measure parts for compliance to customer specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Complete routine machine maintenance
- Maintain documentation of parts production and inspection
- Package parts per work instructions for shipment to customers
Skills
- Proven experience as CNC operator
- Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
- A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
- Good communication abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
