CNC Lathe Machine Operator / CNC Machinist / CNC Setup OperatorJob Overview
We are hiring an experienced CNC Lathe Machine Operator / CNC Machinist / CNC Setup Operator to join our growing manufacturing team. This role is responsible for operating, setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining CNC lathes to manufacture precision machined parts in a fast-paced production environment.
Ideal candidates will have experience with CNC machining, blueprint reading, machine setup, tool offsets, quality inspection, and precision measuring equipment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to produce high-quality machined components
- Perform CNC machine setup, tooling changes, offsets, and program adjustments
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and work orders
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and precision measuring instruments
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot machining issues during production
- Make minor G-code / program edits when necessary
- Maintain tight tolerances and ensure compliance with quality standards
- Complete first-piece, in-process, and final inspections
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine machine cleaning
- Follow all manufacturing, safety, and quality procedures
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as a CNC Lathe Operator, CNC Machinist, CNC Setup Technician, or CNC Machine Operator
- Experience with CNC turning centers / multi-axis CNC lathes preferred
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T
- Knowledge of Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, or similar CNC controls
- Experience using precision measuring tools
- Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and machining processes
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- High school diploma or GED required
Preferred Experience
- CNC programming experience a plus
- Experience in precision machining / metal fabrication / manufacturing / machine shop environments
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience preferred
