Role: Senior AccountantLocation: Chicago, IL (Onsite)Employment Type: PermanentAbout the RoleThe Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance for a public company environment. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams, apply strong technical accounting knowledge, and ensure accuracy and integrity across financial processes. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with Big 4 experience and a strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.Assist with quarterly earnings preparation and reporting in accordance with SEC guidelines.Ensure adherence to US GAAP and internal accounting policies.Collaborate with internal teams to drive accurate financial results and process improvements.Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation to external auditors.Participate in special projects, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.Manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Required Qualifications4–6 years of accounting experienceBachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or related fieldCPA license preferredExperience in public accounting; Big 4 strongly preferredStrong knowledge of US GAAP, month-end close processes, and public-company reportingExperience supporting quarterly earnings preparation in accordance with SEC guidanceAdvanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)Exceptional written and verbal communication skillsProven ability to manage multiple priorities and produce accurate resultsHigh learning agility and intellectual curiosityAbility to build strong relationships across all levels and functionsSelf-starter who works independently and also thrives in a team environmentAdditional InformationBonus: 3%Relocation: Not availableSponsorship: Not availablePosition Type: New role
