Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Data Migration Engineer with extensive experience in migrating enterprise Oracle workloads to AWS cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS), cloud infrastructure, networking, ETL/ELT processes, automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting scalable data migration solutions while ensuring high availability, security, and minimal downtime.

The successful candidate will collaborate with architects, database administrators, developers, and business stakeholders to modernize legacy applications and databases, develop migration strategies, and support hybrid cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-scale Oracle-to-AWS database migration solutions using AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS).
• Plan and execute full-load, Change Data Capture (CDC), and real-time streaming data migrations.
• Develop migration strategies, cutover plans, rollback procedures, and post-migration validation.
• Configure and manage AWS infrastructure, including VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, VPNs, and Direct Connect.
• Deploy and manage AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
• Build Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for cloud-based data integration.
• Automate migration tasks and operational processes using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Monitor migration performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize data transfer processes.
• Configure monitoring, logging, and auditing using AWS CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to modernize legacy applications for AWS.
• Support hybrid cloud connectivity between on-premises and AWS environments.
• Produce technical documentation, architecture diagrams, migration runbooks, and operational procedures.
• Ensure cloud security best practices, compliance, and governance standards are followed throughout migration activities.
• Participate in testing, validation, disaster recovery planning, and production deployment activities.
• Provide technical guidance and support throughout the migration lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8 years of experience designing, developing, or supporting enterprise technology solutions.
• 8 years of hands-on experience using AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS).
• Strong experience migrating Oracle databases to AWS cloud environments.
• Extensive experience with full-load, CDC, and real-time streaming migration architectures.
• Strong knowledge of AWS networking, including VPC, subnets, routing, security groups, VPN, and Direct Connect.
• Experience with AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or AWS CloudFormation).
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes and cloud data integration.
• Strong scripting skills using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience creating migration plans, cutover strategies, rollback procedures, and minimizing production downtime.
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud and legacy system modernization initiatives.
• Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional.
• AWS Certified Database – Specialty.
• Experience working with State Government or Public Sector organizations.
• Experience with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
