Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Industrial Athletic Trainer (ATC Certified) to support workplace safety, injury prevention, employee wellness, and ergonomic initiatives within an industrial/corporate environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, Occupational Safety, or Corporate Wellness, with experience supporting physically demanding work environments.
This role will partner closely with safety teams, supervisors, and employees to reduce workplace injuries, improve employee well-being, and promote a strong safety culture through training, assessments, and proactive risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine workplace safety inspections, ergonomic evaluations, and safety audits to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Identify workplace hazards and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Deliver injury prevention programs, stretching routines, wellness initiatives, and employee safety training sessions.
- Provide on-site athletic training support focused on musculoskeletal injury prevention and early symptom intervention.
- Support implementation and maintenance of safety programs, emergency response procedures, and wellness initiatives.
- Monitor and maintain safety and wellness equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Document safety incidents, near misses, evaluations, and corrective actions accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with supervisors, EHS teams, and employees to address workplace safety concerns and recommend effective solutions.
- Promote ergonomics best practices and safe work techniques to minimize workplace injuries.
- Assist in return-to-work and functional movement support activities when needed.
- Stay current with OSHA guidelines, safety regulations, athletic training standards, and industry best practices.
- Travel to different work locations/sites as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or related field.
- Certified Athletic Trainer credential (ATC) required.
- 5–8 years of experience in industrial athletic training, occupational health, corporate wellness, workplace safety, or related environments.
- Strong understanding of ergonomics, injury prevention, and workplace safety practices.
- Experience conducting employee safety training and wellness programs.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced industrial or operational environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in corporate fitness, industrial environments, manufacturing, warehouse operations, or occupational health settings.
- Military background or experience supporting physically demanding workforces preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and workplace safety regulations.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certifications preferred.
