Ravenscroft School is seeking a Lower School Assistant Teacher to support students and classroom teachers in fostering a joyful, engaging, and developmentally responsive learning environment. This is a full-time, 10-month position following the academic calendar.
The Lower School Assistant Teacher works closely with classroom teachers and divisional leadership to provide instructional, clerical, and supervisory support. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is committed to enhancing the overall experience for students, parents, and faculty.

What You'll Do
Instructional Support
- Provide small-group and one-on-one instructional support to students both in and out of the classroom
- Support intervention efforts and deliver targeted instruction to help students grow academically
- Assist in reviewing and applying student data to inform instructional decisions
- Partner with classroom teachers to prepare instructional materials and manage classroom resources
- Support grade-level projects, special events, and divisional initiatives
- Provide Front Office and divisional clerical support as needed
- Supervise students during recess, lunch, carpool, and other daily activities
- Support smooth morning arrival and afternoon dismissal processes
- Participate actively in grade-level PLCs, division, department, and full faculty/staff meetings
- Contribute positively to the Lower School community and perform additional duties that enhance the student and parent experience

Qualifications
Required
- Elementary teaching experience
- Experience working with young children in an educational setting
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated tact in working with adults and children
- Ability to exercise good judgment and comply with school standards
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
Preferred
- Experience with academic intervention
- Ability to analyze student data to inform small group instruction
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This position operates in a classroom and school environment. Responsibilities include active supervision of students indoors and outdoors, movement between campus locations, and occasional lifting of classroom materials. The Assistant Teacher must be able to meet the physical requirements necessary to support young children throughout the school day.
