What are the responsibilities and job description for the Varsity Boys Basketball Assistant Coach position at Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk School District?
The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable Varsity Boys Basketball Assistant Coach for the 2026–2027 winter athletic season. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Head Coach to support the development of a competitive basketball program that emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, skill development, and student-athlete success both on and off the court.
Qualifications and Responsibilities:
- Previous basketball coaching and/or playing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and player development.
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and build positive relationships with student-athletes.
- Assist the Head Coach with practices, game preparation, and overall program operations.
- Demonstrate strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Promote a positive team culture that reflects the values and expectations of RCS Athletics.
- Must meet all applicable NYSED coaching certification requirements.
