Staff Accountant
Objective/Purpose

The Staff Accountant must be a team player and must possess strong attention to detail and the necessary judgment to plan and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

- General Policy
- Data entry on export materials for the removal of inventory purposes only – Southware .
- Matching receiving paperwork, material and freight invoices with P.O. – audit for any cost or weight discrepancies within Southware.
- Upload & Flag Finished Inventory to track HB Chemical inventory within Southware.
- Monitor and track material and freight cost in excel worksheet to report pricing trends to HB Chemical Purchasing.
- Accounts Payable data entry for raw materials and freight invoices in Southware.
- Process and post wire and intercompany payments for raw materials and freight in Southware.
- Monitor accounts payable email address. Code, send to Readsoft for processing, keep invoices saved in AP folders. Review and approve invoices once in ICR for payment.
- Liaison between Plant, Shipping & Receiving, and Quality departments.
- Facilitate non-product inventories for plant and office and issue P.O.’s where required.
- Coordination of collection of all require ISO documentation as it relates to new vendor requirements.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a professional, friendly manner.
- Greet site visitors and ensure all proper documents are in place & signed as needed.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail.
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy.
- Perform a variety of standardized duties according to established practices and procedures.
- Ability to communicate in a courteous, effective, and tactful manner with customers and employees is VITAL.
- Uphold the Ravago Code of Conduct.
- Other duties as assigned by Site Controller.
- Education:
- College degree is preferred unless compensated with ten years of work experience.
- Experience:
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong Data Entry skills.
- Must be detail oriented, a self-starter, efficient, reliable, and possess the ability to work well with all departments while maintaining a professional attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Systematic thinker and doer.
- Knowledge of Southware, JD Edwards.
- 3 plus years of experience in administrative/business.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, people management and problem solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
