What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate - CHEM (USA) position at Ravago Americas?
Mays Chemical, a Ravago company, is seeking a Warehouse Associate to work in the Indianapolis facility. The selected candidate will report to the Warehouse Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Loading/unloading inbound and outbound trucks; verifying quantities and condition of products against packaging slips
- Moving material to proper storage locations
- Receiving products, preparing and filling orders accurately based on order specifications
- Checking receipts against purchase orders for proper shipment, shortages, damages, or defects
- Labeling products accurately for shipment
- Selecting lots and quantities; selecting appropriate shipping containers and packaging materials
- Completing all required paperwork
- Restocking pick areas and repacking skids as needed
- Practice the principles of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement under the GFSI guidelines
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Forklift experience required; including both sit-down, counterbalance, and Raymond Swing Reach
- One (1) plus year(s) of experience operating standard manual and automatic packaging equipment, and warehouse operation functions such as cycle counting and RF Scanner use
- Proficiency in basic computer skills required
- One (1) plus year(s) of receiving and shipping experience in a chemical environment preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
- Able to operate Raymond Swing Reach forklifts, slip sheet loaders, pallet inverters and drum snatchers
- Able to lift 50 lbs. independently, and 100 lbs. with assistance
- Able to work in both Shipping/Receiving and perform general maintenance to keep warehouse area clean, organized, and efficient
- Able to follow instructions and work both collaboratively and independently
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency; maintaining a fast workflow while minimizing errors
- Follow safety and quality control procedures to ensure product integrity
- Comfortable with standing, walking, and repetitive tasks throughout the shift
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team-oriented setting
