What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Ravago Americas?
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
Assist packaging staff in day-to-day operations of packaging lines and collaborate with Packaging Manager to ensure safety and production goals are achieved. Will review processes and procedures on an on-going basis, to seek new and innovative ways to improve efficiencies, and enhance safety practices. Maintain the facility’s equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. On a daily basis, inspect, and perform minor maintenance on packaging lines or other equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervise, monitor, coordinate, and prioritize the activities of packaging line employees.
Work in a safe manner and follow all company rules and policies concerning safety and PPE.
Complete neat and accurate production logs daily.
Assist Packaging Manager with performance evaluations within the department.
Ensure that we have a productive, safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
Maintain productivity and quality levels as set by the Packaging Manager.
Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Packaging Manager.
Identify damages and report overages/shortages for quality deficiencies.
Train package line employees on applicable equipment.
KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse and/or packaging environments.
Good math, language, and reading skills
Knowledge of proper PPE requirements.
Functional knowledge of handling rail cars.
Basic computer skills may be required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma/GED
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
A variety of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day
Potential lifting of up to 55 pounds
Occasional climbing of ladders
Use of basic warehouse equipment
Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season
