Human Resources Generalist | 2nd Shift
FULL TIME | DIRECT HIRE | 2ND SHIFT ROLE
About the role
A well established, nationwide logistics and supply chain company is hiring a Human Resources Generalist to support its South Carolina operation. This is a hands-on generalist seat covering the full employee lifecycle: benefits, leave, employee relations, performance, and engagement. You will be the HR presence on the floor when the shift is running.
What you'll do
- Administer core HR programs including compensation, benefits, claims and appeals, leave, disciplinary matters, investigations, and performance management
- Lead and coordinate policies, training, and engagement surveys that keep the site compliant and the team supported
- Stay visible and close to the workforce, spending real time on the floor and out with the operation rather than behind a desk
- Run benefits administration including open enrollment, claims resolution, and communications
- Manage leave including FMLA and other leaves of absence through the company's systems
- Coach managers and employees through discipline, terminations, conflict, transfers, and policy questions
- Partner with senior leadership on staffing, recruiting, and retention
- Support safety and HR policy compliance, including personal protective equipment and uniform programs, and help the site show up in its local community
- Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require, adhering to DOT and OSHA regulations and standard supply chain security and quality programs
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree with five years of HR experience, or a Master's in HR Management with two years, or a comparable mix of education and experience
- SHRM or PHR certification preferred
- Strong HRIS skills and solid proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
- Ability to stay organized under tight deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Strong judgment, integrity, and attention to detail
- A valid driver's license, with eligibility for coverage under company insurance policies
