JOB SUMMARY:
The Shuttle Driver is responsible for loading and unloading boxes (containers), transporting empty boxes to the fields, and transporting full vegetable boxes to the dock. The Shuttle Drivers prepares, Signs, and delivers field harvest tags to the receiving crew at the cooler and to harvest supervisors; The Shuttle Drivers reports to harvest supervisor and coordinates with crew leaders.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities will include the following (but are not limited to):

Advises immediate supervisor when a delivery of product/supplies is completed, and he/she are available for the next transportation task or assignment |

Assist in the unloading of full trailers at the cooler. |

Assist in trailer loading operations in field |

Ü |
Complete load tags properly with required information. |

Ü |
Helps with general housekeeping when not driving. |

Ü |
Hitch and unhitch trailers to trucks or farm tractors. |
|
Ü |
Inspect truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition. |
|
Ü |
Load and transport empty boxes, totes, or crates. |
|
Ü |
Load full vegetable boxes, totes, and crates onto trailer in field. |
|
Ü |
Maintain trucks and equipment clean. Must wash vehicle and trailer. |
|
Ü |
Maintain a variety of records and reports related to assigned activities such as: vehicle safety inspections, driver manifests and vehicle/trailer cleaning logs. |

Maintain fields clean of trash and debris. |
|
Ü |
Maintain communication with Shuttle Driver Supervisor or Harvest manager/Supervisor by using equipment such as wireless phones and two-way radios. |

Maintain record of materials and products transported. |

Maintains his/her work vehicle in a neat and appropriate manner. |

Operate trucks and tractors on ranches in muddy, rainy, or dry conditions. |

Operate trucks and farm tractors in a safe manner. |

Operate farm tractor during field loading operations. |
|
Ü |
Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle. |

Positions and secures v-boards, ties ropes and straps around boxes/totes/crates and entire load to hold the cargo safely for transport. |

Report vehicle and equipment defects to Harvest Supervisor or maintenance shop. |

Report all accidents and/ or incidents involving driver or company equipment. |

Sort stock as assigned; assist with periodic inventories. |

Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Valid Class A License with doubles endorsement and airbrakes.
- 1 – 3 years of recent driving experience that required a Class A license.
- Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required
- Ability to work full agricultural schedule
- No DOT offenses in the previous 7 years or pattern of unsafe practices
- Not cited for a DOT defined accident in the previous 3 years
- Previous experience in truck driving or another related field
